Pre-Orthopaedic Training

The St George Hospital Campus

St George Hospital offers a twelve month unaccredited registrar training position suitable for medically qualified graduates who have completed FRACS Part I or equivalent examination, have a NSW medical licence, and who wish to pursue a career in orthopaedic surgery. This position is a 12-month position which runs from the end of January each year. Applications are invited by advertisement in the Sydney Morning Herald, usually on the 2nd Thursday in August. The deadline for this application process is the last Friday of August.

This position offers excellent opportunities to develop surgical skills under supervision in elective orthopaedics and particularly in the management of orthopaedic trauma. Orthopaedic Trauma on call is a component of the program and there are significant opportunities for clinical and/or basic research in this training position.
